Recommended Fairing for Roof Rack on 2017 Ram 1500

Question:

Installed the Custom DK Fit Kit for Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs - Naked Roof - DK043 on my 2017 Ram 1500. Fit is perfect. However, once I exceed 50 mph there is a VERY VERY loud squeal that is proportional to speed increase. At hwy speed of 65 the noise is totally unbearable, really...........cannot hear the radio and conversation is impossible. It sounds like more than one area as it sets up some type of harmonic squeal/whistle. All my rack/crossbar rubber s are in place and secure on top of the crossbars. Crossbar end caps are in place and secure. Will try to tape up the underside of the crossbars to see if that helps. The truck cannot be driven over 50 mph, the noise is really that ear splitting. None of my other Rhino racks Ive purchased from you have this issue. Im open for suggestions...........squealing noise is just incredible.

I looked up your invoice based on your email address to confirm the parts and you do have the correct parts for your 2017 Ram 1500. Some wind noise is normal, but what you are describing is definitely not normal. The vortex trips should be installed in the top rails as well as the rubber channel ruler on the underside anywhere the feet/towers will allow.

If the end caps and the strips are not fixing the sound issue, then I recommend use a fairing like the Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks - 44" Long # RRRF3 to direct the wind over the bars.
