Electric Winch with Remote to Raise Rear Trailer Door

Question:

I have a toyhauler door and I am thinking that I’m going to follow your advice and use the winching system that you told someone else on on earlier post. My question is: will I need a winch for each side of my toyhauler door or just one side?? The winch you recommended to an earlier post. Does it also have a remote?

The winch in question is the Master Lock Electric Trailer Winch # 2953AT and it does have a remote. Keep in mind that this winch only powers the line in. This means that you would have to have the winch in freespool mode to lower the door and then re-engage the clutch to power the line back in. You would only need one winch but also a pulley block such as # CU881081.

The pulley is needed because the line will need to come out of the winch straight for at least 12 inches and since the angle of the line will change as the ramp lowers something will be needed to maintain a straight line pull.
