Recommended Bike Rack For Electric Fat Tire Bikes with Tilt and Swing-Away Features

Question:

Considering a Rad Power Bikes Rad Rover fat tire eBike, 60+ lbs. Would want a rack to fit on a 2017 Toyota Sienna and 2014 Roadtrek RV, built on 2014 Mercedes Sprinter 3500. Assume that a platform rack is necessary. Would like something that could swing away to allow full access to rear liftgate Sienna or barn doors RV. Am concerned that many platform racks use front tire clamps, problematic? on bikes with fenders? Ive researched Kuat NV2/Pivot Swing Arm, RockyMounts swinging, Thule T2 Pro, or Hollywood Sports Rider SE #HLY84FR. Ill need a 2inch hitch Drawtite Max?. Looking for advice....want to get this right 1st ime! Thanks

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR is the best rack for your needs. It can handle what most bike racks cannot which is fat tire electric bikes. This rack can handle two bikes up to 80 lbs each and will secure the bikes by the frame so you don't need to worry about the fenders.

If you want to add the swing away, use the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender for Bike Racks - 2" Hitches # Y02483. This will work well for your application as it can handle up to 4 bike racks and weights up to 250 lbs.

This combination will work with both of your vehicles without issue according to my contact at Hollywood Racks.

Will this work on an ebike Rad mini step thru with fat tires, fenders and basket ebike?

The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider will still work well, although you'll likely need to add an adapter bar like part # HRBA-PRO for each of your bikes. This will create a horizontal attachment point on your Rad e-bikes with the step-through frames.
