What is the Correct Direction of Pull for the Erickson E-Track
Question:
I am thinking about mounting two rows of e track in the bed of my pickup maybe more, because I want to secure various cargo in the bed while traveling back country trails. I have seen vertical e track. In other answers you have said to set the direction of pull for the tie down in the same direction as the track. So, it does not matter if the pull is parallel to the slot or perpendicular to the slot, as long as it is in line with the track. Right?

You are correct. As you can see in the attached pictures you want to keep the tie down in the E-Track # E19148 in the same direction. Perpendicular pull is okay as long as you mean straight out from the track.
The only time that you can really get away with using the strap to secure something that is not in line with the E-Track is when it is used in conjunction with E-Tracks and straps going the other way. As you can see in the linked review video that we shot we used straps in this manner to help keep the toolbox from toppling over.
