Height and Weight of Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6194

Question:

Three questions. 1 When an ISR hitch says it adapts from 17-19, does that include the ISR rails? 2 When mated to #DM6194 GM puck adapter, does that add to overall height? 3 Re views on # DM6194 say its heavy. How much does # DM6194 actually weigh? I just bought a new GMC 3500 and have concerns about the hitch height mating up with my 2006 Montana 2955.

The listed hitch height range for a particular fifth wheel trailer hitch is measured from the top of the bed rails to the top of the hitch head when level. Most above-bed rails will sit about 1-1/4 to 1-1/2 inches above the bed, so you can simply add this to the hitch height measurement to get your height above the bed floor.

The Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter # DM6194 that you referenced is designed to attach to the factory gooseneck hole on your 2018 GMC Sierra 3500 to provide industry standard, above-bed base rails. I spoke with my contact at Demco and he stated that the rails will sit about 1-1/2 inches above the bed in your truck.

This Rail Adapter weighs around 95 pounds.

To attach to these adapter rails, I recommend taking a look at the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550035.
