Wireless Controller Needed for Towing with a 2018 Toyota Highlander

We do have a wireless brake controller that can be used with virtually any vehicle; the Curt Echo # C51180. This is a proportional brake controller that uses inertia sensors to determine how much power to apply to the brakes so that your trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity as your 2018 Toyota Highlander. You control the settings via Bluetooth connection (through an app) with your Apple/Android smart phone.

The only thing required to use this brake controller is a 7-Way that has the basic trailer functions and 12V power active. If you don't have a 7-Way with those functions we can definitely help you out.

If your Highlander has the factory tow package and no 4-Way then you need the Curt # 56042. Without the factory tow package you need the Curt # C56217 instead.

Once you have a 4-Way you need to install the Wiring Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This plugs into your existing 4-Way and then includes everything needed to give you the required functions of a 7-Way.
