Trailer Tire Recommendation Taller than Size 5.70-8
Question:
I have a 93 Jayco 806 popup camper with 5.7-8 load range c tires. For additional ground clearance I would like to increase the tire size. It looks like I have about 22” clearance in the tubs. What would be a similar tire with 20-21” diameter?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The most similar size to your 5.70-8 tire size that has the diameter you are looking for would be the 4.80-12 which is 20.5 inches in diameter like the part # TA98RR for if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern or # AM30630 for if you have a 4 bolt wheel pattern. The section width of these tires is right at 4.9 inches.
