Do Curt Q25 Grease Fittings Break Easily and How Does Demco Adapter DM6206 Install in 2018 Silverado

Question:

2018 CHEVY 3500 SILVERADO I AM CONSIDERING THE CURT Q25 AS A REPLACEMENT FOR MY CURRENT HITCH SINCE THE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS AND PUCK ADAPTABILTY WILL HELP ME. I HAVE READ SOME REVIEWS WHERE THE GREASE FITTINGS EITHER SNAP OFF OR DAMAGE THE GREASE GUN. HAS THERE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE INSTALLED GREASE FITTINGS? ALSO WHAT IS THE ISSUE WITH MANY REVIEWS COMMENTING ON THE DAMAGED SHIPPING CARTONS? EARLIER QUESTION WAS ABOUT CURT GREASE FITTINS. IF i DECIDE TO USE MY EXISTING HITHCH IN THE PROCESS OF DRY FITTING TO CHECK LEVEL OF TRAILER WITH WEIGHT ON TRUCK MY QUESTION IS AS i see it the demco 6206 plate adapter has only one hard fastening point. in the event of severe bounce is it possible that the adapter plate could come out of the center fastening point? i am sure i am missing somthing but tightening one small machine screw to keep 17, 500 pounds of trailer in place seems a little quirky.

I combined both of your questions into one.

There were some issues with the Curt Q Series hitches including # C16069. Those issues have been addressed though in the form of a new series of hitches; the "A" series. The A25 is # C16066.

Damaged shipping cartons occur when the delivery service handles the packages. Heavy items can sometimes get tossed around and the boxes get damaged. The packaging is not damaged when it leaves our warehouse though.

On the Demco adapter # DM6206 there is a locking rod and ball bearing that will be down in the gooseneck ball hole cavity to secure it in place. So it is more than just 1 fastener holding it in. The ball bearings in the adapter work the same way as the factory gooseneck ball does so it is a secure connection.
