What Horsepower Gains will SuperChips Programmer for 2012 GMC Sierra Provide
Question:
I found a flashpaq for sale at a good price but Ive never used one. Does it have to be plugged in at all times for it to work? Is it really going to do what it says? Am I really gonna see an increase on mpg, and horsepower? Is this model good for my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Blackjack edition 5.3 liter? Should I get this unit or wait and get a more expensive unit later? Thank you for your time and advise.

Expert Reply:
The correct Superchips Flashpaq for your 2012 GMC Sierra with a 5.3 liter V8 is the part # SU2845 which will give you up to 14 horsepower, 15 ft lbs of torque and would give you a couple extra miles per gallon. The part number you mentioned would not be a confirmed fit.
This unit does not need to be plugged in at all times to function. You could program your truck and then unplug this unit.
