Recommended Way To Make Contacts To The Trailer Relays And Fuses On The 2007 GMC Acadia

Question:

I have a 2007 GMC Acadia SLE. It has the connector for the brake controller for the tow package by the brake pedal, and the connector by the spare tire with 3 pins in it. The fuse box as the ports for where the trailer relays and fuses go, but do not have contacts in them. Is there a way to open the fuse box and put the contacts in without having to install a new fuse box. I have the t-harness running from my rear lights to a 4flat. and i have a 4 flat to 7round adapter. i just need to get the 3 leads from the power and brake controller to the adapter and i dont want to drill through the firewall to do it. is it possible or do i just have to bu a new fuse box with the contacts already in it?

The best way to wire a 7-way trailer connector on your 2007 GMC Acadia is to make the connections at the battery and run the wires through the firewall. In a lot of cases you don't need to drill a hole but you can use an existing grommet instead.

Since you already have a 4-way to 7-way adapter, the wiring you will need is # 5506. it includes the wiring and circuit breakers and ring terminals.
