Brake Controller Recommendation for Towing a Horse Trailer with a 2011 Toyota Tundra
Question:
Pulling a 2 place horse trailer - Would you recommend the Prodigy 2 for this? I have a 2011 Tundra factory wiredTow package

A brake controller is not vehicle specific, so you have many different choices of brake controllers that could be used for pulling a horse trailer with your 2011 Tundra. This being said, you can't go wrong with the Prodigy P2. The controller is simple to install on a vehicle equipped with the factory tow package and very easy to set up which makes the P2 our best selling brake controller.
If your Tundra came with the factory pigtail, it would wire up to the pigtail included with the P2 as follows:
Pigtail black wire with red stripe attaches to black wire on controller
Green pigtail wire with black stripe attaches to red wire on controller
Brown pigtail wire to white wire on controller
Red pigtail wire to blue wire on controller
Solid green wire is NOT used.
If you do not have the factory pigtail, you will need the wiring adapter, part # 3040-P.
The tow package connector should be located either near the top of the emergency brake pedal or behind the kick plate to the left of the emergency brake.
