Can the Outside Tray be Removed on the Yakima HoldUp # Y02445 When Only Hauling One Bike

Can you remove one of the platforms when you only need to ride with one bike?

I guess technically if you wanted to remove all of the hardware on the Yakima HoldUp # Y02445 so that you can take one of the platforms off that would be possible, but I don't recommend doing that as it will wear down your hardware and gives you multiple opportunities to lose them.

If you are concerned about the ease of loading up your single bike to the spot closer to your receiver then I recommend looking at the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR. This is the only bike rack that allows you to "step in" to the bike rack itself instead of having to lean over the tray that sticks out further.

The HoldUp and Transfer come with bike and rack locks.
