Can the Anti-Sway Part of the Cradles be Removed on a Thule Gateway Trunk Mount Bike Rack

Question:

Is the no sway cradle which hugs the seat post be removed once installed? Sorry I cant seem to figure this out. I tapped it in while installing but now it seems stuck for good.

The anti-sway portion of the cradles on the Thule Gateway Bike Rack, # TH78VR, can indeed be removed. What you will do is make the top cradle part level, then rotate the anti-sway part of it up 90 degrees so that it is perpendicular to the top part of the cradle. You will then pull down at the attachment point where the cradle meets the anti-sway portion. A twisting motion helps.

It may also be beneficial to remove the cradle assembly so it is easier to work on the cradle. To do this, you just remove the one screw in the end cap, remove the cap, and then pull the cradle off of the arm.

I made a short video demonstrating how to put on and remove the cradles for you.
