The B&W Gooseneck Hitch # BWGNRK1067 is a confirmed fit on both the short-bed and long-bed versions of your 2006 Silverado 2500HD. This excellent 30K-rated USA-made hitch does NOT include the 4-inch hole saw needed for making the ball hole. An install video is linked for you.
For an in-bed wiring harness you can use Bargman part # 50-97-410.
