Will Firestone Air Bag Kit # F2542 Fit a 2013 Ford F-150 4WD with OEM Trailer Hitch
Question:
I have a 2013 F150 XLT 4WD Super Crew Short Bed with a installed factory hitch. Will Firestone Air Bag 2542 work for my application? I had one source tell me it only works with the BandW hitch installed.

The note about the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2542 only being compatible with a B&W hitch has to do with the in-bed gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch brackets. If you are talking about a trailer hitch then the Kit # F2542 will fit perfectly and have no issues.
I recommend also installing a compressor kit like part # F2158 to keep from having to track down a compressor when you need to fill up the air bags.
If you are eventually wanting to install a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch instead of the Firestone air bag suspension you can use the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-117-47. These are compatible with the factory 5th wheel hitch in your F-150 and help improve the ride of your vehicle. These offer suspension support up to 1,500 lbs (please note that no suspension enhancement increases the weight capacity of your vehicle) and work to reduce the effects of off-center loads and body roll.
The best things about this suspension enhancement system is that it is completely maintenance free and will not cause your F-150 to ride rough when you don't have a load. You just install them and then enjoy the benefits without another thought.
