Can Reese Elite Slider Hitch be Used with Reese Revolution Pin Box
Question:
I have a 16K Reese revolution hitch on my Jayco 5th wheel. I just purchased a new 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty 4x4 short box with the factory prep 5th wheel package in it. Will the Reese slider model 30144 fit and can it be used with the revolution I have on my camper. Also, my box is taller and the tail gate when lowered down is longer than my old truck when down for hitching up. I am concerned about hitting my tail gate against the front of my trailer when hooking up. Can I hitch up with the slider extended to the rear of the box to give me extra room, and then move the slider back to transport position. I only really want the slider to be able to do this and still use my revolution as designed. Is it possible to call me as I have more questions.

Slider hitches like the Reese Elite Slider part # RP30144 can be used with a Reese Revolution but you have to keep the hitch slid all the way forward at all times. If you slide the hitch back the Revolution will end up hitting the tailgate.
If your trailer has a shallow overhang and your tailgate would cause an issue hitching up you'd have to lower the tailgate, pull the truck under the trailer and then raise the tailgate back up before reach the fifth wheel hitch. This isn't normally an issue though so what I would do is carefully try backing up the truck to the trailer with a friend watching the clearance. It'll help to back up totally parallel to the direction of the trailer too.
The correct wedge will be the part # SWW-01 to with the Elite hitch.
