Bearing Buddy Recommendation to fit Trailer Hub with Bore 1.980 inch
Question:
I put new surge brake baking plate kits that I purchased from you on my boat trailer. They work great. However my bearing buddiy caps fell off of two of my hubs. They OD on the one that didnt get run over measures 1.980. Any ideas? What is the normal size of the bearing buddies? What is the normal size of the hub I.D. ?

Based on the dimension you listed the correct Bearing Buddy you need is the part # BB1980A which is designed for fitting a hub bore of 1.980 inch like what you measured.
Make sure your fully seat the Bearing Buddy when you install it and be sure not to overfill the hub with grease.
