Troubleshooting Gooseneck Hitch Adapter and Revolution Pin Box on Chevy 3500 Long Bed Truck

Question:

I have a Reese Revolution Pin Box Hitch standard on my 2018 Rockwood 2650WS ultralight. I upgraded to a larger truck and found it has a BandW roll over gooseneck hitch. I purchased a Curt X5 Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Adapter Plate, and a Curt 16115 E16 5th Wheel Hitch. Can I take advantage of the Revolution to move back the pivot point? If not, can I lock the Revolution and leave the pivot point on the 5th wheel plate. I have a Chev 3500 long bed, so the extended pivot point is not crucial. I am seeing that there may be some conflict.

You are correct that there is a conflict in using any gooseneck adapter with a Revolution or Sidewinder style pin box. The rotating turret being further back creates too much movement and torque for the gooseneck hitch. You can simply lock your Revolution pin box by using conical washers and torqueing the 3/4 inch bolts to 210 foot lbs and removing the wedge.

That will allow your system to pivot at the hitch and work with your gooseneck and adapter, you just won't have the Revolution's additional turning function. I recommend using the Curt 10" Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch Lube Plate # 16721 to allow that turning to be less messy than grease.
