Thule T2 Pro Platform Bike Rack Weather Resistance and Compatibility

Question:

Which colour for this rack do you think is less prone to rust - the silver one or black one? We live on the Westcoast - lots of rain. I plan to leave the rack on year round. What is the smallest bikes this can carry? Would a kids 15inch mountain bike still fit? When installing, is it advisable to put some grease, like Phils bike grease around the hitch to avoid any seizing between the rack and hitch? Thanks.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH23JV is a great bike rack option. It's made with a powder coat, so it will resist rust and will be a great choice for your West Coast weather.

This rack is compatible with wheels from 20 inches to 29 inches. Most 15 inch frames have 24 inch wheels so you shouldn't have a problem, but you will want to measure the tire diameter to make sure.

You do not need to use any grease for hitch connection. The shank will easily install and then you will use the knob to tighten the connection and engage the anti-rattle. I've attached a video to assist.
