Could Power Grip Generator 30 Amp to 50 Amp RV Power Cord Adapter Power House with Generator
Question:
Hello, I have a Honda EU7000IS 7000 watt 30 A generator that has both NEMA L5-30R 30 AMP 1-120 VAC and a NEMA L14-30R 30 AMP 1-120/240VAC. I am having a 50 AMP transfer switch installed at my house want the flexibility of 50A if Honda comes out with a 50A EU series in future. My understanding is that if I get the CAM55412 with my current generator outlets that I can plug the male end of the adaptor into the L5-30R on my generator and plug my long generator cable to my transfer switch box into the female end of the CAM55412 and this would allow me to use the 120V 30 AMP outlet through my 50 amp outlet going into my transfer switch and house to power 120 volt items only. Along the same line of thinking: If I get the Mighty Cord Generator Adapter for RV Power Cord - 50 Amp Female to 30 Amp Twist Lock Male - 12inch - A10-G30450VP then I would be able to plug my 50 amp generator cord into my 30 AMP 120/240 outlet on generator and power either 120 or 240 in my home up to the generator wattage limit. I just want to make sure this is correct as most people order these to plug an RV in and I am using to plug a 50 AMP generator cord into a transfer switch. Thanks

I described what you are looking to do to my contact at Camco with the part # CAM55412 and his response was that this will work, but will not power up the complete house, ie. stove, heater, or heat pump. Will be able to run lights, fridge though.
Same would be true for the Mighty Cord Generator Adapter # A10-G30450VP
