How to Protect Special Trailer Tires from Heat-Related Damage and Failure
Question:
I have been looking to possibly buy 4 these tires, but I find a lot of negative reviews on the forest river rv forum, can you give any info on the quality of it?

The Lions Heads Castle Rock ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # LHACK124 is covered by a 1-Year No Excuses warranty on the tire, a 5-year warranty on the wheel AND it comes with a Roadside Assistance Program which provides complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years.
If your RV or trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change the flat for you. You can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year from anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico. If within the first 12 months the tire is damaged in any way that's not covered by warranty, it will be replaced at no charge. You will also be compensated a flat labor rate for the cost of mounting the replacement tire.
I think these policies say something about quality.
While I cannot dispute other people's direct experience, I can tell you that we know from our own experience that many RV-ers operate their tires incorrectly.
Trailer/RV tires typically fail from excess heat. Excess heat in a tire usually arises from three main causes: 1) incorrect inflation pressure; 2) overloading; and 3) driving faster than the tire is rated for.
It may sound crazy but there is a lot of "folklore" about tires out there. Many people intentionally under- or over-inflate their trailer tires thinking it will help somehow with traction or wear. This is INCORRECT. It is absolutely NEVER appropriate to inflate a trailer tire to any pressure other than the cold psi pressure noted on the sidewall.
The key is selecting tires that are correctly rated for your weight load and typical driving speed. Observing a tire's capacities and required pressure are the keys to ensuring a full working lifespan. All wheel/tire products in your size are shown on the linked page.
