Looking for a replacement 3500# axle and wanting to use a common tire size 205\17\15. I was wondering what axle i would need to make it work. To ensure that you get the correct replacement axle you really need to know what your hub face and spring seat measurements are (see attached picture). We do have 3,500 lb options to replace your axle but they are not traditional axles. From the 72" measurement you mentioned, we don't have any traditional axles that fit your application.

The Timbren Axle-Less Suspension Systems eliminate the need for hub face and spring seat measurements, plus they can be easier to install if you need to replace suspension parts. The Timbren systems do give you more ground clearance, although a cross tube may be required for extra weight support.

If you just have idler hubs then the part # A35RS545 is what you need. The hubs that come with this system have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern which will work with a ST205/75R15 radial trailer tire like the Taskmaster # TA67VR. This tire/wheel combo has a load range of C (1,820 lbs at 50 psi) and a max speed rating of 81 mph.

I have attached some review videos for you to check out as well as a link to our selection of 3,500 lb axles.
