Are Towing Mirrors Needed for Pulling 34 Foot Trailer with 2016 Toyota Tundra

Question:

I have a 2016 Toyota Tundra Crewmax SR5. I will be towing a 34.3 FT trailer and I am wondering is my stock mirrors will allow me to see around the trailer or if I need to get towing mirrors? Thank you

Adding towing mirrors to your 2016 Toyota Tundra for your 34 foot trailer is a really good idea. These will allow you to see clearly around the trailer and will be especially helpful when trying to back up into a tighter space. It's possible that the factory mirrors will let you see adequately around the trailer when going forward, but a towing mirror is still going to be a big improvement. Since you are unsure, I simply recommend taking your truck and trailer out to a nearby parking lot before adding any aftermarket mirrors so you can see exactly where your vision might be limited with regards to the trailer and nearby obstacles.

For set of custom towing mirrors that are confirmed to fit your Toyota Tundra SR5, I recommend the K-Source Extendable Towing Mirrors # KS70103-04T. These power mirrors will replace the factory units on your truck and can telescope out to extend your line of sight. A turn signal is built into each of the mirror housings and the heated glass will do a great job of clearing frost and ice. Please note though that these functions will work only if your Tundra already has this capability with its factory mirrors. They will give you an extended length of 23-3/4 inches from the truck to the edge of the mirror.

I have attached a short video demonstration on these mirrors that you can also take a look at.
