For your 2018 Ford F-150 with 5.5 foot bed, the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BW77FR is the correct fit. You will want to use the 4 inch offset ball # BWGNXA4085 because the bed is shorter than 6 feet. This offset ball will work with the Andersen Ultimate Hitch but you will still need to be careful with turning clearances due to the short bed and Super Crew Cab. The Andersen hitch will require the shorter 3237 coupler tube in place of the standard 3227.

The only way to give you proper turning clearances is to use a complete 5th wheel rail kit and hitch along with a Sidewinder pin box. The Sidewinder moves the turning point back 22 inches to allow that clearance for your short bed truck.

With either application, I recommend the wiring # 50-97-410-010 to add a second 7-way to the bed of your truck for easy connection access as well as a clean look.

The lightest hitch for the Gooseneck to 5th wheel hitch is the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 which weighs 175 lbs total and can be installed in pieces. The lightest 5th wheel hitch for rails is the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch System with Adapter # AM3200 weighing 55 lbs, but the lightest sliding hitch that I personally recommend for a short bed is the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30051 which weighs 143 lbs.
