Bike Rack for 4 Bikes that Can be Used on the Back of an RV, Motorhome, Trailer
Question:
I noticed that this bike rack says no to motor home , RV and trailer. Why is that a problem and can you recommend a 4 bike rack that can mount to a 5th wheel bumper?

Expert Reply:
There is more vibration, jarring, and movement in general at the back of an RV or trailer due to suspension limitations and the distance from the axle to the rear of the vehicle or trailer. Not all bike racks, the Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z included, are built to withstand this additional stress and will fail.
For a 4-bike hitch mounted rack that can be used on the back of an RV or trailer we have the following options:
Swagman Trailhead # S63381
Yakima LongHaul # Y02476
Swagman XP # S64940
Swagman Original # S64400
Out of these options I like the Yakima racks because the straps for the cradles are easy to use which makes loading and unloading easier. And when it is easier to load/unload a bike rack it just seems to make the whole trip more enjoyable.
