From my research it looks like the factory hitch on a 2015 Mercedes GLS 550 has a 2" receiver; if so there are some great options for a cargo carrier. I recommend the etrailer # e98874 which is 60" wide x 24" deep x 5-1/2" tall inside dimensions and a 500 lb weight capacity (though you need to make sure you do not exceed the tongue weight capacity of your hitch). The etrailer carrier can fold up when it is not being used, has a shank with a 2" rise for additional ground clearance, and is constructed out of powder-coated steel.
I also recommend using Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e99047 to keep the noise to a minimum as well as Cargo Bag # 988501 which gives you 20 cubic feet of storage and attaches to your cargo carrier with its tie-down straps. I've added links to video reviews of these products for you to take a look at as well.
