Locking Hitch Pin Recommendation for Swagman XC and XTC Bike Racks
Question:
I am looking at the Swagman bike racks XC-2 and XTC-2. I have a smooth pin no threading with a lock for my 2” trailer hitch. Can I use that to secure these racks to my hitch or do I have to buy the Swagman threaded pin.

Expert Reply:
The Swagman XC part # S64650 and XTC # S64670 require the use of a threaded hitch pin to secure to a hitch. This removes quite a bit of the movement of the rack in the hitch tube. You can't use a standard hitch pin with it, but if you somehow found a way the hitch would move quite a bit and you wouldn't like it.
For a hitch pin lock you'd then want the part # S64029 instead.
