Expert Reply:

The function of this Replacement Solenoid Valve # T4748800 is to stop the hydraulic pressure from activating your trailer brakes when you put your tow vehicle in reverse allowing you to reverse your trailer.

This is accomplished by wiring this unit into the reverse light circuit so that when your vehicle is put in reverse the solenoid activates and prevents pressure from passing through the lines activating the brakes.

If you are looking to control the flow of the pressure to allow you to reverse your trailer without the brakes being applied you could use this product.
