Does Using a Weight Distribution System Increase the Towing Capacity of a Vehicle
Question:
If you use a weight distribution hitch does that increase the towing capacity and tongue weight capacity for a vehicle? Thank you in advance for taking time to answer my question.

Some vehicles will have a second, higher towing capacity when used with a weight distribution system. Typically you'll see two sets of capacities. One set that is normally listed as "weight carrying" which will be lower and represents when you aren't using a weight distribution system and then there will be a second listed as "weight distribution" that will be a bit higher. In this situation the WD system does give you a higher capacity.
However, if the vehicle is listed for use with a WD system but a second set of higher capacities isn't listed with that then the capacity is not increased.
