To install this in your 2007 Newmar Canyon Star with a Workhorse Chassis you will need to do a little bit of hardwiring as there are no plug-in connectors on your vehicle.
For a brake controller I recommend going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This brake controller is very easy to use due to the LCD screen and the information that it shows. It features settings that can be saved as well as easy troubleshooting codes. You will need to connect the wires from the pigtail that came with the P3 to the following functions:
Black - 12V Power
White - Ground
Blue - Brake Controller Pin on 7-Way
Red - COLD Side of Stop Light Switch (only gets hot when brake pedal is pressed)
Sometimes on a motorhome there will be a bundle of wires that goes to all of these functions. This will either be located under your driver side dash or under the driver's seat. You can verify the wire functions by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993.
Let me know if you cannot find these wires and what kind of connector you have on your Canyon Star, and I can help you get the wiring that you will need for a brake controller.
