Installing a 7-Way and Brake Controller on a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
I have a 2013 Chevy equinox with 4 wire harness currently installed. Need to upgrade to 7 wire with brake controller. Would also like to retain 4 wire compatibility. Could you recommend products?

To Upgrade your 4-way to a 7-way kit, you'll simply need to install the # ETBC7 kit, which will add a 7-way and 4-way port to the rear of your vehicle.
For the brake controller, I recommend Tekonsha's Prodigy P3 Proportional Brake Controller, part # 90195. This proportional controller can be mounted at almost any angle and applies proportional brakes to your trailer based on how you brake the tow vehicle. This gives you better control of the trailer and helps reduce wear on the vehicle's brakes and transmission.
I've included video reviews of both of these products, and an install of the # ETBC7 kit and Prodigy P3 on a Chevrolet Tahoe so you can get an idea of what the process looks like.
