Could RoadActive Suspension Kit be Used on 2000 Ford F-150 with Add a Leaf to Rear Springs

Question:

Hi I have a 2000 F150, but I often carry above 2000 lbs. Can I use the RAS3611-HD model instead for the extra capacity? What modifications could I make to get this part to fit? I really need the higher capacity.

The RoadActive Suspension # RAS4612 hasn't been tested on your 2000 Ford F-150 with added leafs to the rear suspension. There's a chance it might work, but there's also a large chance you'd have to remove the added leafs to be able to install this. This would give more support than the added leafs anyway so either way this will be a good solution for you.

Otherwise you can keep the suspension the way it is and use a Timbren kit part # TFR1525HD which is a confirmed fit and will give you additional suspension support.

I know it's tempting to want to go with a higher rated system but it really won't benefit you as much as you think it would. One reason is that the higher rated system has never been tested on your truck it's very possible the ride quality would be pretty rough if you got it to fit properly. So not only do we not have a way to recommend fitting the kit on your truck it's most likely going to make your ride quality very rough. The other factor to consider is that if the additional suspension support of the # RAS4612 (2,000 lbs) isn't enough you most likely are exceeding the capacity of your truck which will then potentially cause your to be a danger to others on the road as well as damage the truck itself. These kits do not increase the towing capacity of your truck. They only help your truck carry it's current capacity in a safer way.
