Brake Controller Compatibility with Two Trailers and 4 Axle Braking
Question:
I have a tandem axle 5th wheel camper and I want to tow my tandem axle utility trailer hauling our side by sides behind my camper thus having 4 axle braking. how will this effect performance of the controller and will it damage the controller?

Expert Reply:
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR will only work properly for up to 3 axles. Using this with 4 axles could cause the unit or the braking to work intermittently or not at all. If you want to use this controller, then I recommend only having your front axle of your utility trailer wired when in this combination.
For 4 axle braking like you mentioned, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195.
