Recommended Load Leveling Air Suspension for Towing with 2010 Ram 3500 DRW 6.7L Diesel

Question:

On the towing capacity it shows around 16,000 lbs for conventional towing. In this picture is a Elite Suites 38RESB3. When I pulled it. It was empty at 16000 lbs. It has a maximum 21000 lbs on decal. I also had extra leaf springs for added load weight. What would the maximum be on Fifth wheel/Gooseneck towing?2010 Dodge Ram 3500 SLT Crew Cab 2WD 3:73 Rear 6.7L Diesel

Your 100 gallon tank will add about 840 lbs plus the tank weight when full. Whether you can pull a trailer or not is not the issue, but rather how big a trailer. According to the 2010 Ram Towing guide you will be limited to 13,400 towing. The older trucks even though big, are not able to tow what the newer models are capable of.

For your air bags, I recommend the Firestone Ride Rite # F2701. They have a 7500 lb load leveling capacity to help your truck keep the headlights out of the sky. You may also be interested in the on-board air compressor system # F2097 for adjustments depending on your load.

Based on the specs you gave, the max towing is 17,000 lbs according to RAM for a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. The extra leaf springs won't change the towing capacity but may give you a better ride. The towing capacity is based on the engine and transmission as well as other components.
