Kayak Roof Rack for a 2009 Nissan Murano

Question:

I am wondering what folding kayak roof racks will work with my 2009 Nissan Murano LE? I have the roof rack rails that runs front to back, as well as the bars that run side to side they are rectangle shape, not round. Please let me know!

For your 2009 Nissan Murano LE, I recommend the Malone DownLoader, part # MPG114MD. You can use two of this rack on your roof if needed, and it includes features that are handy for loading the kayak. It includes everything you need in the box, including tie-downs for the kayak, and is compatible with your factory roof racks.

Looking at the DownLoader, you'll notice a wedge shape on the front of the carrier. This ramp helps support some of the weight of the kayak as you go to load it, making the load much easier. It's covered in padding that will help keep your boat safe.

If you want to add load assist, the Telos XL Load Assist, part # MPG351XL is designed for the DownLoader. This is a kit that attaches to the openings on the load ramps of the DownLoader and is useable on multiple DownLoaders. The Telos can also easily fold up and store inside the vehicle for easy use. This load assist works by helping you ratchet the kayak up to the roof where you can load the kayak into the downloaders without having to heft the kayak up to the roof yourself.
