Will Redarc Tow Pro Brake Controller Fit 2010 Jeep Commander with 7-Way

Question:

I have a 2010 Jeep commander with the Mopar harness adapter. This is being used with the Redarc tow pro. How do I identify ground, brake output, stop light circuit, and 12v in the Jeep side of the harness? BTW: Jamesons earlier help was great!

Since your 2010 Jeep Commander has the factory brake controller wiring the Redarc Tow Pro part # RED44FR will work well and install easily. Basically it will just wire directly to the vehicle brake controller wiring you have installed.

The black wire is for the 12 volt power, white is ground, blue is brake output, and red is stoplight circuit.

If the wiring harness is not labeled you'd need to test all of the wires with a circuit tester like part # 3808. The wire that has 12 volts all the time goes to the black wire of the brake controller, the wire that sees voltage only when the brakes are applied goes to the red wire. Ground the tester to the constant 12-volt power wire that you found earlier, then probe the remaining two wires.  The wire that lights the tester will be the ground (run to white wire), the other will be the brake output circuit (run to the blue wire).
