Battery Charging Time vs Battery Capacity
Question:
My onboard charger for my boat has been charging for 4 hours plus 2 evenings in a row And battery 2 and 3 been done but battery 1 still in yellow like its still charging. I dont remember it taking that long. But no red or anything like that would be battery issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Without knowing the details about your charger or battery type or capacities I can speculate that the one battery may require reconditioning or de-sulphation, or it may be no longer able to accept a full charge. Battery chargers like # CTEK56353 include a de-sulphation stage that can often "revive" a lightly sulfated battery. It accomplishes this with carefully monitored electronic pulses of energy that help to break down the lead sulfate crystals, allowing the battery to accept charge once again.
Please also refer to the linked table that shows typical charging times based on battery capacity. A single 90-Ah battery can easily take a full day to charge; multiple battery setups can take longer.
