Hello, Does this bike rack require a separate locking hitch pin, or do the Same Key Systems achieve the same goal? Thank you!

No, the Thule Helium Pro 2-Bike Rack # TH9042PRO does not require a separate locking hitch pin. The way it works is the knob tightens the bike rack shank inside the hitch receiver. Once sufficiently tight you will not be able to remove the rack unless the knob is loosened.
