Replacement 10-Inch Tires for a Trailer with 2,000 Pound Axles

Question:

I would like to know if there is a 10 inch rim and tire with the same outside diameter as an 18.5 X 8.5 X 8 inch. That way I could install disc brakes on my 2,000 lb. Dexter Axle. The wheels and tires cant be any larger diameter than these 18.5 X 8.5 X 8 inch. These small drum brakes dont last very long. I will get this figured out. Thank you for your time.

Your tires are roughly equivalent to the 215/60-8 modern sizing, and these have a total diameter of 18.205 inches, including the wheel.

The closest match in size will be 205/50-10 tires, like the Kenda 205/50-10 4-on-4 pattern Bias Golf Cart Tires, part # AM90016. These tires have an outer diameter of 18.3 inches when inflated. With the tires only rated for 665 pounds at 30 psi, this may not work for your trailer application, but would be the correct sizing for your disc brake install.
