Possible Solution for Carrying E-Bikes with a RV that Weigh 57 lbs

Question:

Hello, I have just purchased an E-Bike that weighs 57lbs that is a low step and has fenders. We travel full time in our 5th wheel. My husband has a mountain bike as well. We are looking for a bike rack to attach to the receiver hitch on the back of our 5th wheel to carry our bikes on. The Thule Easy Fold was going to be our option, however their policy does not allow us to put this behind our tow vehicle. We dont need anything that folds up or down. But would like to have something that has locks inside the bike rack if possible. Can you recommend another option?

The best e-bike rack solution for the rear of your RV is the Hollywood Racks RV Rider, part # HLY64FR. It works with motorhomes, 5th wheel trailers, and flat-towed vehicles and accommodates 2 standard or fat tire e-bikes up to 5 inches wide. It also includes a hitch lock and bike locks.

At the rear of a trailer or RV the ride quality is very rough when compared to the ride quality at the rear of a passenger vehicle. Reason being the suspension isn't as sophisticated and there is a longer distance between the rear axle and the rear of the trailer which exaggerates the movement of the trailer when hitting bumps. Because of that only a few bike racks were designed to be reinforced enough for that type of use.
