Solution for Carrying Bike Rack and Towing Tent Trailer

Question:

Hi there, I have bought a dual hitch receiver to be able to use a bike rack in the upper receiver while I tow my tent trailer with the lower receiver. However, the tent trailer coupler cannot fit under the bike rack to be able to access the hitch ball. Can I use an hitch extentender in the lower receiver and then the hitch into the extender and attach the tent trailer? This will also give me more room to fit the bike on the bike rack without interfering with the battery and propane tank on my tent trailer. However I am worried about diminishing the overall tongue weight by using the dual hitch receiver and hitch extender both would be rated to 4000lbs.. Thanks,

We may have a solution that would work, but we can't recommend the use of two hitch adapters.

Instead if your tent trailer is built on an A-frame you could use the part # CC-275 installed on the front of your trailer so that can install a bike rack in the hitch opening.
