Recommended Brake Controller and Wiring for 2014 Ford F-150 with Factory 4-Way Trailer Connection
Question:
Im looking to add 4/7 pin combo trailer hook up with brake controller to my 2014 Ford F150. It currently has 4 pin light hook up. The vehicle does have a towing package. What parts would I need for this installation?

For your 2014 Ford F-150 with factory 4 flat, you will need a brake controller, wiring harness, 7-way connector and some wiring. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 for your brake controller due to the proportional braking, the LCD screen for diagnostics versus code deciphering, and the preset boost options. Then you will need the wiring harness # 22292 to connect this to your factory wiring. See attached installation video to assist.
For your wiring connections at the bumper, I recommend using # ETBC7. This kit will allow you to either utilize wires run (brake =blue, and orange or red=12V) to the end of your driver's side frame rail or bypass the wires if desired for a hard wired option. This kit will give you a 7-way and 4-way when you utilize the factory 4-pin already installed. Let me know if you have questions.
