Replacement Powered Trailer Roof Vent with Auto-Lift
Question:
WHEN LID CLOSES -AT THE END OF THE CYCLE WHEN THE ROOF VENT LID CLOSES THERE IS A GEAR STRIPPING SOUND. REPLACED OPERATOR MECHANISM AND IS STILL HAPPENING-MAXXAIR RECCOMENDS REPLACING OPERATOR MECHANISM AGAIN PLUS NEW LID MOTOR. HOWEVER, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE PROCESS OF MOTOR REPLACEMENT. ANY SUGGESTIONS

It is tough to remotely diagnose the cause for the bad noises from your MaxxAir roof vent auto-closing lid but since you have already replaced the operator mechanism I suggest biting the bullet and replacing the whole unit. This will get you a new warranty on the entire vent assembly and installing a whole vent is often easier (and less frustrating) than installing multiple replacement parts.
The page I linked for you shows our range of 12V powered roof vents, all of which fit a standard 14-1/4 x 14-1/4-inch roof opening.
For instance, MaxxAir part # MA00-04500K offers powered lift, 10-speed operation and a 900-cubic-feet-per-minute capacity. Hardware is included; all you need to add is silicone sealant # 0160297.
