Best 5th Wheel Hitch to Use for a 2013 Silverado 2500 with a 6-1/2 Bed and B&W Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

Looking for a reasonable solution please. I have the BandW Underbed Gooseneck Turnover Ball hitch, which was part of the 2013 Chevy 2500HD 6 1/2 ft bed that I purchased. At the same time I purchased a 40ft KZ Inferno 5th wheel toy hauler, which came with a Reese 20K #30081 5th wheel hitch and plates. I dont see much room to install the plate hardware in conjunction with the BandW Gooseneck hitch, which I dont necessarily want to remove. Any chance that you guys may know if the Reese 5th wheel hitch plates hardware can be mounted in conjunction with the BandW Turnover Ball? I could then use my Reese 5th wheel hitch and add the Sidewinder Airborne with the best of both worlds. If that isnt an option, Im interested in the Demco DM6140 due to its adjustable elevation to accommodate bed liners. I have a thick spray on liner. The Curt X5 is an alternative. In addition, I like the idea of the push back pivot point with the Reese Sidewinder. Thats a lot of add-on. Ive looked at the BandW Companion with Slider, but the cost is roughly the same as the solution above without the feature of the constant turret system of the Sidewinder. Do you have other solutions considerations please?

I do have a solution for you, but unfortunately you cannot use a Sidewinder or the Demco Adapter # DM6140 and sliding 5th wheel hitch with the B&W Gooseneck hitch installed on your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. The reason being that there will be too much torque that rests on the one connection with the gooseneck hitch.

You could use the Demco Adapter # DM6140 with your Reese 20K # RP30928 or a manual sliding 5th wheel hitch like the Reese 16K # RP30051, but you cannot use it with an autosliding 5th wheel hitch like the Demco Hijacker 21K # DM8550035.

The best solution for you to go with at this point is the B&W Companion # BWRVK3400-5W since it was made to work with your B&W gooseneck hitch. Unless you plan on changing out your B&W gooseneck hitch for base rails then this is really the only way to go.

As I am sure you have experienced with your gooseneck hitch, the B&W line of towing products is some of the best in the country and is made right here in the USA. They pride themselves on making top quality equipment that is built to last.

From the picture that you submitted of the bed of your truck I couldn't tell if you had a 7-Way installed in the bed or not. If you don't then I highly recommend installing the Bargman # 50-97-410 as well since it will make connecting and disconnecting your 5th wheel (and gooseneck) trailer much easier.

I have attached some demonstration videos for you to also check out.
