Curt A20 Installation Using Curt Base Rails in 2016 Ford F-350 with 8 Foot Bed

Question:

I have a 2016 F350 SD w/8foot Bed. Any installation instructions for installing the A20 I already have the Curt universal rails. Im also looking for instructions on locating the rails so my hitch point is correct above the axle.

The Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails with Installation Kit - Carbide Black Finish # C16200 or gloss finish # C16100 will fit with your 2016 Ford F350 8 foot bed. You will measure from the rear edge of your truck bed (not tailgate) to put the back edge of the rear rail at 32-1/2 inches from that rear edge. Then you will use that rear rail and your hitch to determine the location of your front rail for the correct fit.

For an easier installation that requires no measuring or drilling in your frame, I recommend the Curt Custom 5th Wheel Bracket Kit for Ford # C16424. These brackets will use the holes already in your frame from the factory to help you put your rails in the correct location. It will help you install your rails in the correct location in about 1/2 the time of the universal kit.

Your Curt A20 # C16140 will fit with your current rails properly with either bracket choice. I also recommend adding the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector # C56000 to add another 7-way to the bed of your truck for easy connection access.
