Expert Reply:
On the Curt Spyder Gooseneck Trailer Hitch, # 16085, the 2-5/16 inch diameter ball is welded on and cannot be removed. The unit itself is designed to fit in above the bed 5th wheel rails so it is an easy on/off application with rails installed in the bed. Rail and installation kits are sold separately, if needed.
