Towing Trailer with Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes Using Factory Brake Controler on 2014 Chevy 3500
Question:
I have a 2014 Chevrolet 3500 hd with integrated brake control built in. I bought a stock trailer with dexter electric over hydraulic brakes. They will not operate with my truck but work fine with other truck. Any suggestions?

Your 2014 Chevrolet 3500HD's factory brake controller isn't compatible with electric over hydraulic brakes. But if you use an adapter module, like part # HBA-CAM, you should be able to tow your trailer. This adapter is for HydraStar EOH actuators and not Dexter, and we don't carry one for Dexter. However, we've heard this one still works with the Dexter actuator, we just havent't had a chance to try it ourselves yet.
The sure-fire way to solve your issue is to install an aftermarket brake controller, like the P3 # 90195.
