Recommended Roof Mounted Bike Rack for Mountain Bike with 3 Inch Tires

I need to know if this rack will accommodate a 29inch wheel MTB with 3.0inch Tires. Thanks

I do have a solution for you, however the SportRack Upshift SR4883 referenced in your question can secure a maximum tire width of 2-1/4 inches, so it will not work well with your mountain bike that features 3 inch tires.

I instead recommend looking at the Swagman Upright Roof Bike Carrier # S64720. This is a frame-mount bike rack that will work great to secure your bike to the roof of your vehicle. It will work with tires of up to 3 inches wide and a maximum wheel base of 54 inches. You can add a cable lock like the etrailer.com # e98891 to secure the bike to the carrier and help deter theft.

Yes, the Swagman Upright Bike Rack # S64720 will work really well on your Forester as long as it's equipped with roof crossbars. If you don't have the factory bars just let me know.
