Expert Reply:
The recommended ball mount for the 2006 Nissan Titan is Ball Mount, # 2753. However, you could use a different ball mount if you need more rise or drop to tow the trailer. To determine the correct rise or drop you will need, there are 2 easy measurements that need to be made.
First, park the truck on level ground. Measure from the ground up to the top of the receiver opening. Next, you will need to have the trailer on level ground. Measure from the ground up to the bottom of the coupler with the trailer level.
If the receiver is higher, the difference between the 2 measurements is the amount of drop you will need. If the coupler is higher, the difference is the amount of rise you will need.
The 2753 ball mount has a 2-3/4 inch rise and a 4 inch drop. We have many different ball mounts with various rise and drop measurements. I have included a link to our ball mount main page for you. I have also included a link to our ball mount FAQ article.
