Using the Kuat Pivot for Electric Bikes on a 2018 Ram 3500 With Pleasure-Way Conversion Kit
Question:
Interested in this rack- will it work with electric bikes that have fenders? The pictures don’t look like it would work. It will be mounted on a 2017 Dodge Ram Promaster conversion Pleasure-way with rear opening doors. I am also considering the Kuat Pivot with another electric bike hitch rack that can be used with electric bikes with fenders. A positive with the RockyMounts is that it would be less distance between the hitch pin point and the 1st loaded bike.

Generally, we don't recommend using wheel-mount carriers like the RockyMounts Backstage, part # RKY10002 with bikes that have fenders, as it can bend and damage the fender.
Instead, I'd recommend a frame mount like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE For Electric Bikes, part # HLY84FR. This carrier can be used with an extender like the Kuat Pivot, part # PVP20B to create the swing-away rack you're looking for on your vehicle. This rack has a capacity of 80 pounds per bike, and sits about 7-1/2 inches away from the hitch pin hole, keeping everything relatively close to the vehicle.
